BCBA Basketball 101

Powered by Blue Chip Basketball Academy: Build Skills. Boost Confidence. Ball Out.
Get ready to level up your game! The YMCA is proud to partner with Blue Chip Basketball Academy (BCBA) to bring you an all-new basketball academy experience, combining the YMCA’s fun and fundamentals with BCBA’s elite training edge.

This clinic-style program is designed for beginner and intermediate players who are looking to grow their skills in the off-season while having a blast on the court. Led by trained BCBA and YMCA coaches and powered by the proven methods of BCBA founder Kishon Bishop, participants will focus on mastering the basics—dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and game play—while building strength, confidence, and a love for the game.

Each session includes: high-energy skills training; age-appropriate drills and technique work; scrimmages and game-time scenarios; and emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and staying active.

A maximum of 40 participants per age group. All participants should come prepared with a water bottle.

Basketball Academy Elite
Powered by Blue Chip Basketball Academy: Train Like a Pro. Play Like a Champion.

Take your game beyond the basics. The YMCA Elite Basketball Academy, now powered by Blue Chip Basketball Academy (BCBA), is designed for experienced players who are ready to train at a higher level and compete with intensity.

Created for advanced athletes who have played on school or AAU travel teams, this exclusive academy combines the Y’s leadership in youth sports with BCBA’s proven player development system, founded by coach Kishon Bishop and known across the #336 for producing next-level competitors.

Each session will challenge participants to sharpen: technical skill execution; advanced offensive and defensive strategies; court vision and decision-making (Basketball IQ); endurance, speed, and mental toughness; and confidence in competitive game situations.

Scrimmages and high-level game scenarios will be incorporated after the first few sessions to reinforce training in real-time. If you’re ready to train harder, think smarter, and compete stronger, this is your next step.

BCBA and YMCA basketball staff will coach. Maximum of 30 participants. All participants should come prepared with a water bottle.
